In this position, students will utilize the knowledge and skills learned in pathway courses or other aligned courses to perform entry-level duties in various departments under the supervision of a department mentor. This is a paid, on-site internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Exhibit competencies in the workplace as identified in the work plan.
- Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
- Operate standard office equipment, including a computer and assigned software.
- Organize and structure work tasks to meet all deadlines.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two pathway courses or courses aligned to the work placement.
- Completion of OSHA 10 General Industry training prior to the start of the placement.
- Completion of employability modules prior to the start of the placement.
- A positive recommendation letter from a teacher regarding self-management and core competencies.
- A minimum of 90% attendance during the current school year.
- Ability to demonstrate positive behavior, with no 300-400 level offenses in the last two years and no more than two 200-level offenses in the current school year.
- Basic technical skills and an aptitude for learning new technology.
