About the role#
The Family and Community Partnerships Intern I supports the daily operations of Metro Nashville Public Schools. This role provides hands-on experience in education and youth development by assisting with student supervision, enrichment activities, and logistical tasks. Interns work under the guidance of site leadership to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the planning and execution of the Promising Scholars program.
- Facilitate communication between schools, families, and community partners to foster engagement.
- Support the design and implementation of student retention strategies, including efforts focused on third-grade retention.
- Manage and update supply inventory and coordinate distribution to schools and families.
- Contribute to the development of program materials, presentations, and reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with staff to analyze data and monitor program outcomes to ensure alignment with grant and legislative requirements.
- Create graphics and visual content to engage families and stakeholders.
- Develop and schedule social media content to highlight program updates and successes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in a relevant field such as Psychology, Communications, Sociology, Political Science, Human Resources, Public Health, Business Administration, or Graphic Design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear reports and professional correspondence.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review, interpret, and visualize data in charts and tables.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and track important documents and materials.
- Preferred: Prior experience working with children, in education, or in administrative roles.
