About the role#
As a Student Nurse Intern, you work one-on-one with a Registered Nurse to provide patient care. You will learn the daily responsibilities of a nurse while supporting our clinical teams. This role requires you to model the mission and values of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in your daily interactions.
What you'll do#
- Provide personal care and assist patients with daily living activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Observe patient conditions and report changes or behaviors to your supervisor.
- Help with patient and family education throughout their stay.
- Participate in discharge planning, starting from the time of patient admission through their dismissal.
- Maintain high standards of care and service while working in a clinical environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college nursing program.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively with patients, families, and staff.
- Skill in prioritizing multiple tasks in a clinical setting.
- Ability to perform medium work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and the physical stamina to stand, walk, and reach during shifts.
- Comfort working in environments with frequent patient contact and exposure to body fluids.

- This is a paid, full-time internship located in Memphis, Tennessee.
- The role is on-site and follows a rolling term schedule.
- Work involves frequent physical activity, including repetitive motion and the ability to react quickly to emergencies.
