Student Nurse Intern - (ALL FACILITIES) Adult and Pediatric

About the role#

As a Student Nurse Intern, you will work one-on-one with an assigned Registered Nurse to provide quality care to adult and pediatric patients. This role offers the opportunity to learn the functions of a Registered Nurse while supporting the patient care team across multiple Methodist Le Bonheur facilities. You will be expected to model the organization's mission, vision, and values in all professional interactions.

What you'll do#

• Provide personal care and assist patients with activities of daily living under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Observe and report changes in patient conditions or behaviors to the nursing staff.
• Assist with patient and family education throughout the care process.
• Participate in discharge planning from the time of patient admission through dismissal.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college nursing program.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to communicate effectively and positively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a clinical environment.
• Must be able to perform medium work, including exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently, with the ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
