About the role#
The Student Worker provides administrative and operational support to departments within Mercy College of Ohio. This position is part of the Federal Work-Study program and is designed to help students gain professional experience while balancing their academic commitments. This is a part-time, on-site role with a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Provide office support by answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting visitors.
- Perform data entry, maintain accurate files, and handle clerical tasks like copying, scanning, and filing.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and events.
- Prepare, organize, and distribute materials.
- Support department projects and conduct basic research or tracking activities.
- Maintain the confidentiality of institutional and student information in accordance with FERPA policies.
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least six credit hours per semester.
- Eligibility for and receipt of a Federal Work-Study award through Financial Aid.
- Proficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Clear telephone communication and accurate typing abilities.
- Ability to record meeting minutes accurately.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment.
- A professional approach to interacting with faculty, peers, and the public.
