About the role#
The Practice Operations Intern works under the direction of the Practice Director of Development and Improvement. You will learn to provide coaching and support to leadership teams, focusing on performance improvement, change management, and leadership training. This role involves using structured problem solving, process mapping, and project management to support continuous improvement within clinical operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the facilitation of complex, cross-functional improvement teams to reach performance goals.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with medical and healthcare staff to ensure project outcomes.
- Work with front-line employees to improve care delivery and reduce waste.
- Apply rigorous data management methods to collect, analyze, and summarize information.
- Act as a change agent to foster a patient-centric culture.
- Assist in creating project charters and monitoring progress through key performance metrics.
What you'll need#
- Senior undergraduate student in good standing. Graduate students are also preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn team leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Analytical and computer skills, including experience with statistics, spreadsheets, word processing, and Visio.
- Independent and self-motivated work style.
- Majors in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Operations Management, or Sociology.
