About the role#
McKim & Creed is seeking an Engineering Student Intern for our Water/Wastewater team in Newark, Delaware. This position is for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on municipal water and wastewater projects, reporting directly to a supervisor. This is a paid, part-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical and design services for municipal water and wastewater projects.
- Conduct technical evaluations and prepare design computations and assessments.
- Assist in the creation of design and construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
- Complete assigned design tasks within established budgets and schedules.
- Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs with your project manager and team.
- Manage technical writing for reports and project correspondence.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with junior status preferred.
- Strong organizational and technical skills with a process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to understand directives from a project manager and coordinate effectively with a design team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete work consistently with moderate flexibility.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
