About the role#
McKim & Creed is hiring an Engineering Student Intern for our Water/Wastewater team in Wilmington, North Carolina. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site as part of a project team supporting municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
What you'll do#
You will support municipal water and wastewater projects by providing technical and design services. Your daily tasks include conducting technical evaluations and preparing design computations and assessments. You will assist in the creation of design and construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents. You will report to a supervisor and coordinate with project managers to ensure design tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Junior status is preferred.
- You are a process-oriented person with strong organizational and technical skills.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with team members.
- You can follow directives and adapt to changing project demands.
- You must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
