About the role#
This is a full-time, 10-week summer internship based in Hunt Valley, Maryland. You will work with the Sensory & Consumer Science team to understand how sensory research guides product development, innovation, and brand strategy. You will gain hands-on experience with quantitative and qualitative sensory methodologies while receiving mentorship from experienced researchers.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of daily sensory projects, including internal tasting, descriptive analysis, and consumer research.
- Observe how sensory methodologies apply to new product development and ingredient changes.
- Assist with data analysis using tools such as Xlstat, Compusense, or R.
- Present and share research results with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Collaborate across departments with product developers, marketing teams, and sensory scientists.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or graduate program.
- Pursuing a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Food Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in sensory science.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks.
- Prior coursework or experience in sensory science, consumer insights, or market research is a bonus.

- Location: Hunt Valley, Maryland.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $20 - $22 per hour.
