About the role#
Help us decide what goes on markdown, when, and by how much. As a member of the Markdown Optimization team, you will turn sales results and product lifecycle plans into clear recommendations that protect margin and keep inventory moving. You will work with our markdown tool and partner with Merchandising, Planning, Promotions, Visual, and Marketing teams to use AI and process improvement to change how markdown work gets done.
What you'll do#
- Drive AI and process improvement by finding, testing, and rolling out ways to use automation to speed up and simplify markdown tasks.
- Support markdown strategy by building clearance recommendations that maximize sales, margin, and inventory health.
- Build and review weekly clearance reports, markdown recaps, calendars, and planner files.
- Maintain pricing and lifecycle information for styles across systems.
- Support price adjustments and store pricing requests.
- Update business rules, settings, and promotional inputs in the markdown tool.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with retail math, including margin, sell-through, and inventory.
- An analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A real interest in AI and process improvement.
- Preferred: Experience in retail, merchandising, pricing, or planning.
- Preferred: Familiarity with MicroStrategy.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with AI tools, automation, or workflow improvement.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Duluth, Minnesota, at our corporate office.
- The work modality is hybrid.
- This is a part-time, temporary position paying $18 per hour.
- The role runs through mid-May 2027.
