About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in the landscaping industry. You will work alongside Greenhouse, Yard, and Maintenance Crew Leaders to learn the full lifecycle of project maintenance and enhancement. Interns are paired with mentors who provide guidance on how we create and maintain landscape projects throughout the Chicagoland area. You will gain exposure to diverse projects ranging from green roofs to private estates.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with your Crew Leader and team members.
- Perform high-quality work on all assigned tasks.
- Participate in active job site activities including mowing, trimming, planting, and watering.
- Attend company training programs focused on safety and equipment use.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and in the required uniform for every shift.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associates or Bachelor's degree program related to landscape studies.
- Knowledge of landscape terminology, plant materials, or installation techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- A commitment to safety and following established work procedures.
- Accountability for your performance and meeting project deadlines.
- Prior experience with Aspire Software is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Lake Bluff, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Physical requirements: The role involves continuous physical activity, including standing, bending, and walking. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions for 8 to 12 hours per day. Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet client deadlines.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
