    About the role#

    As an Electrical Engineering intern or co-op, you will gain hands-on experience within a refinery setting. You will work alongside professionals to understand how various engineering disciplines collaborate as a cohesive team. This role provides exposure to multiple areas of refinery operations, helping you build critical thinking and professional presentation skills. Most interns will focus on Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) project engineering, reliability engineering, or process control and technical services.

    What you'll do#

    • Work on real-world electrical and instrumentation projects, including scope alignment, cost estimation, and schedule development.
    • Support area teams and develop project management skills across multiple engineering phases.
    • Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues and analyze equipment failures to develop long-term solutions.
    • Assist with electrical analysis software, Arc Flash studies, and the application of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
    • Support process control systems, including hardware and software lifecycle replacements, communication network installation, and system performance monitoring.
    • Familiarize yourself with industry codes, best practices, and maintenance strategies.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
    • Strong academic performance.
    • A valid driver's license.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, indefinite basis without the need for visa sponsorship.
    • Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
