Intern/co-op - Refining Construction Management (Fall 2026)

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to apply principles from construction management and project controls coursework to industrial facility projects. Participants work alongside contractors and construction specialists on projects ranging in scale from tens of thousands to billions of dollars. You will develop skills in scope, budget, and schedule development, with training provided to support your growth toward professional project management.

What you'll do#

• Plan and schedule materials, labor, and equipment for construction activities.
• Track and analyze project costs, comparing them against control budgets.
• Ensure compliance with document control procedures and processes.
• Prepare documentation for project decision audit trails and risk mitigation efforts.
• Assist with bid preparation, contract awards, and contract administration.
• Monitor and report on contractor productivity, progress, and performance.
• Prepare schedule updates and perform critical path analysis.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program in Construction Management, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• Strong academic performance.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week.
• A valid driver's license.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
