The Natural Gas and NGL Services Engineering Intern/Co-op manages capital projects from initial feasibility and scope development through engineering design, construction oversight, and commissioning. This role involves balancing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and budgetary requirements. Interns will work in the field and office to support the lifecycle of midstream infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Manage project phases including feasibility reviews, equipment selection, project bidding, and contractor selection.
- Collaborate with departments during Front-End Loading to vet resource estimates, schedules, and business benefits.
- Monitor project performance during the execution phase to ensure quality, cost, and time parameters are met.
- Coordinate with Project Controls to optimize resources and conduct productivity analysis.
- Support electrical engineering teams with power utilization, optimization, and analysis of motor control centers.
- Manage DOT-regulated pipeline integrity repair programs and field construction teams.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through technical assessments, HAZOPs, and PHAs.
- Maintain accurate, current project documentation and facilitate technical reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program (or higher) in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.
- Strong academic performance.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, indefinite basis without the need for visa sponsorship.
- A valid driver's license, as projects may require travel.
- Ability to spend time in the field managing activities at pipelines, compressor stations, and pump stations.
