    About the role#

    Marathon Petroleum Company LP offers Craft Maintenance Internships at its refinery in Robinson, Illinois. This role provides hands-on learning experience to support academic development. You will work under the direction of experienced maintenance employees to develop technical and interpersonal skills, gain familiarity with industry codes and best practices, and apply classroom knowledge to real-world refinery operations.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist Craftsmen in performing maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.
    • Support Instrument Technicians with the installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of field instruments.
    • Assist Electricians with general electrical maintenance, including wiring repairs, lighting, circuit breaker upkeep, and interpreting electrical schematics.
    • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of work performed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including site and workshop cleanup.
    • Promote a collaborative work environment and demonstrate adherence to safe work practices.

    What you'll need#

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Currently enrolled in a two-year Advanced Manufacturing Automation program, or programs related to electrical, instrumentation, or analyzer systems.
    • Minimum 2.0 GPA.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Robinson, Illinois.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Thursday, with a maximum of 30 hours per week.
    • Term: Rolling opportunities available for spring, summer, and fall semesters.
