About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program provides professional development and career growth opportunities within the Audit Division at M&T Bank. Interns participate in department projects, attend sessions with industry leaders, and connect with a network of peers. This role is designed to build foundational skills and offers priority consideration for future full-time opportunities at the bank.
What you'll do#
- Perform entry-level professional duties within the Internal Audit department.
- Ensure all activities follow internal policies and external regulations.
- Follow risk and regulatory standards to maintain effective internal controls.
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.
- Design and maintain controls to mitigate risk.
- Maintain internal control standards, including addressing audit points and regulatory findings.
- Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the bank brand.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
