About the role#
LPA, Inc. is hiring a Structural Design Intern to join our engineering team in Irvine, California. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date. You will work on-site as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and master planners. We focus on sustainable design across various building types, including education, recreation, health care, and performing arts facilities.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with other disciplines throughout the integrated design process.
- Support Project Engineers and Project Managers with structural design tasks for diverse building types and systems.
- Conduct research on design and analysis methods for future projects.
- Participate in mentorship programs, software training, and internal education sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering or related degree program.
- Familiarity with CAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A curious, open-minded approach to learning.
- A commitment to the multidisciplinary design process and building a long-term professional career.
