About the role#
LPA, Inc. is hiring a Structural Design Intern to join our engineering team in San Diego. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will work alongside architects, interior designers, and planners on a variety of building types including schools, laboratories, and health care facilities.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the integrated design process with other disciplines at LPA.
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with the structural design of diverse building types and systems.
- Conduct research for new design and analysis methods for upcoming projects.
- Engage in mentorship opportunities with Managing Directors and Design Directors.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering.
- A commitment to building a long-term professional career.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An open mind and a desire to learn.
- An enthusiastic commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Familiarity with CAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
