About the role#
LPA is looking for a Structural Design Intern to join our engineering team in San Jose. You will work within an integrated group of architects, engineers, interior designers, and planners. This role involves contributing to a wide range of projects, including education, recreation, and health care facilities, as well as complex laboratories and performing arts centers. You will receive mentorship from Managing Directors and Design Directors and have access to internal training programs.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the integrated design process alongside other disciplines.
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with structural design for various building types and systems.
- Conduct research on next generation design and analysis methods for active projects.
What you'll need#
- A commitment to a multidisciplinary design process and team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An open mind and a desire to learn.
- A commitment to building a long-term professional career.
- Familiarity with CAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
