About the role#
This 11-week internship provides hands-on experience in managing travel centers, including food service and truck care operations. You will work alongside experienced leaders to learn facility operations, team management, and customer service. The program is designed to help you build skills in a retail environment while supporting professional drivers and travelers.
What you'll do#
- Participate in training across store, fuel, food, and truck care operations.
- Learn to drive sales, manage costs, and support store profitability.
- Practice team leadership, staffing, and employee development.
- Gain experience in customer service and issue resolution.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and operational standards.
- Help enforce safety, compliance, and company policies.
- Collaborate on a project with other interns and department leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year degree program in business, management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Comfort interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to use various computer programs and technology tools.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks including moving around and lifting up to 50 pounds.
