About the role#
This 11-week internship provides hands-on experience in managing travel centers, including food service and truck care operations. You will work alongside experienced leaders to learn how to manage a facility, lead a team, and provide customer service to professional drivers and travelers. This program is designed to help you build a foundation for a career in retail management.
What you'll do#
- Participate in training across store, fuel, food, and truck care operations.
- Learn how to drive sales, manage costs, and support profitability.
- Practice team leadership, staffing, and employee development.
- Deliver customer service and resolve issues as they arise.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and operational standards.
- Enforce safety, compliance, and company policies.
- Collaborate on a cross-functional project with other interns and department leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year degree program in business, management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Willingness to learn by doing in a customer-focused environment.
- Proficiency with various computer programs and technology tools.
- Ability to move around, talk, hear, see clearly, and lift up to 50 pounds.
