About the role#
This 11-week internship provides hands-on experience in managing travel centers, including food service and truck care operations. You will work alongside experienced leaders to learn how to manage facilities, lead teams, and provide customer service. The program focuses on real-world application of business skills to help you prepare for a career in retail management.
What you'll do#
- Participate in training across store, fuel, food, and truck care operations.
- Develop business acumen by learning to drive sales, manage costs, and support profitability.
- Learn team leadership, staffing, and employee development practices.
- Gain experience delivering customer service and resolving issues.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and operational standards.
- Understand and help enforce safety, compliance, and company policies.
- Collaborate on a cross-functional project with other interns and leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year degree program in business, management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Comfort interacting with customers and team members.
- Willingness to learn by doing in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to navigate computer programs and systems for daily operations.
- Physical ability to talk, hear, move around, see clearly, and lift up to 50 pounds.
