About the role#
This 11-week internship provides hands-on experience in managing high-volume travel centers. You will work alongside experienced leaders to learn about facility operations, team management, and customer service. The program focuses on real-world application of skills and leadership development to prepare you for a career in retail management.
What you'll do#
- Participate in training across store, fuel, food, and truck care operations.
- Develop business acumen by learning how to drive sales, manage costs, and support profitability.
- Learn team leadership, staffing, and employee development practices.
- Deliver customer service and resolve issues as they arise.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and operational standards.
- Understand and help enforce safety, compliance, and company policies.
- Collaborate on a cross-functional project with interns and leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year or 4-year degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in business, management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Ability to navigate computer programs, systems, and technology tools.
- Willingness to learn by doing in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to talk, hear, move around, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check (which may include a motor vehicle check or DOT physical).
