E&I Technician - Full Time Internship

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship providing hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of facility systems. You will work alongside senior technicians to gain practical knowledge of electrical distribution, instrumentation, and control networks within a mission-critical facility environment.

What you'll do#

• Support the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) team in the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of facility systems.
• Assist senior technicians with preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical panels, switchgear, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation devices.
• Participate in equipment inspections and field verifications while ensuring compliance with safety standards such as LOTO and confined space entry.
• Learn and apply electrical diagnostic techniques, including voltage, current, and continuity testing.
• Support instrumentation calibration and verification for temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters.
• Document readings, maintenance data, and results in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assist with equipment startups, functional tests, and the installation of new control devices under supervision.
• Participate in daily safety meetings, shift passdowns, and tool management tasks.

What you'll need#

• 1–3 years of experience in Electrical or Instrumentation maintenance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate or associate’s degree in Mechanical, HVAC, or Industrial Maintenance is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including LOTO, confined space entry, and chemical handling.
• Strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn advanced maintenance techniques.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and work effectively within a team.
