About the role#
Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is looking for a Marketing Intern to join the team in Houston. This paid role provides hands-on experience in internal communications, social media, graphic design, and database management. You will work alongside our team to support business development and growth within our civil engineering firm. This position is open to current students or recent graduates.
What you'll do#
- Create, produce, and distribute the weekly internal newsletter.
- Design and update digital reception slides and internal materials.
- Build graphics using Canva while following brand standards.
- Post news and announcements to the internal HUB.
- Research industry news, project developments, and social media topics.
- Maintain the marketing and communications calendar.
- Manage digital assets and project photography in OpenAsset.
- Support the JOIST project photography initiative by organizing and uploading images.
- Update client and contact information in Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Coordinate contact lists for the annual holiday card program.
- Organize marketing materials in the collateral library.
- Research competitor materials and industry trends.
- Handle general administrative tasks, including organizing team supplies and processing credit-card receipts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, business, or journalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Comfort using databases, spreadsheets, and content-management systems.
- Basic graphic-design skills and familiarity with Canva.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Professional judgment when handling confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Deltek Vantagepoint, or OpenAsset is helpful but not required.
