About the role#
The Career Development Center is seeking a student to support email communications, social media efforts, and storytelling for the department. This role involves 8-10 hours of work per week over a consistent schedule of 2-4 days in the office. The intern reports to the Assistant Director of Career Development.
What you'll do#
- Draft targeted emails sharing job postings, internship opportunities, and event details customized by major.
- Research relevant jobs and internships for various majors.
- Design social media graphics, email banners, and flyers in Canva while following department branding guidelines.
- Manage social media content, including designing and captioning Instagram posts to boost engagement.
- Maintain the department communication calendar to ensure the timely dissemination of updates.
- Interview students and alumni to collect career stories for the online library.
- Greet students, answer questions, and check them in for appointments at the Career Development Center.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Lipscomb undergraduate student.
- Major in English or Communications.
- Sophomore status or higher is preferred.
- Experience with Canva and Instagram.
- Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, responsive, and approachable demeanor.
- Federal Work Study approval is preferred.
