About the role#
The Office of Intercultural Development (OID) offers this paid internship to students seeking to gain leadership experience, promote cultural awareness, and encourage unity within the campus community. Interns play a vital role in supporting the OID mission by facilitating programs that address diverse perspectives and fostering student engagement.
What you'll do#
- Attend regularly scheduled leadership trainings and meetings.
- Manage content, messaging, and updates for OID social media platforms, calendars, and websites.
- Organize, coordinate, and implement campus-wide educational programs, events, and activities that promote diverse perspectives.
- Provide marketing and advertising support for office programs and events.
- Coordinate student participation in community service opportunities, such as the MLK Day of Service.
- Assist with front desk duties, student recruitment events, and major cultural awareness programming.
- Develop methods to gather student feedback on office initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student at Lipscomb University in good standing with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Entering at least your second year of study (sophomore, junior, or senior).
- Availability to work at least 10 hours per week.
- Strong interest in utilizing marketing and communication skills to advance the OID mission.
- Commitment to diversity, social justice, and the ability to engage in discussions regarding topics such as race, religion, and socioeconomic status.
- Familiarity with on- and off-campus resources.
