DoD SkillBridge Internship - Operations Supervisor

About the role#

This is a DoD SkillBridge internship designed to provide transitioning service members with the knowledge and skills necessary to move into a full-time Warehouse Supervisor role. The program lasts 90 to 120 days and focuses on learning company processes, culture, and operations. Successful completion of training objectives and positive performance appraisals may lead to an offer of full-time employment.

What you'll do#

• Supervise, train, and provide performance feedback to direct reports to ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, merchandise organization, and warehouse inventory.
• Plan production schedules and allocate resources while maintaining accurate production records.
• Track warehouse activities, including sales, record control, and purchasing, to ensure product availability.
• Prepare and submit reports to plant personnel.
• Operate machinery and material handling equipment while resolving employee issues.

What you'll need#

• Eligibility to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program per DODI 1322.29.
• 2 years of warehouse or logistics leadership experience.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Strong conflict management and communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs and work in a range of temperatures from -20°F in cold storage to 100°F in dry storage.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, in environments with varying noise levels.
