About the role#
This internship is a 90 to 120 day program designed to prepare transitioning service members for a full time career as a Maintenance Technician. You will learn our processes, culture, and business operations while gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of our maintenance team. Successful completion of the program and positive performance reviews may lead to an offer of full time employment.
What you'll do#
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical assets and facility grounds under supervision.
- Inspect refrigeration systems with guidance from leadership.
- Maintain material handling equipment according to manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Operate power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
- Utilize onsite motorized lifts and rental equipment as needed.
What you'll need#
- Must be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program per DODI 1322.29.
- Completion of trade school courses or minimal experience in building, material handling, or refrigeration maintenance.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to communicate with team members at all levels.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Capability to work in temperatures ranging from -20 Fahrenheit to 100 Fahrenheit while wearing required protective gear.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends as needed.
