About the role#
This internship is an approved DoD SkillBridge opportunity designed for service members in their final 180 days of active duty. The program provides hands-on experience in warehouse operations, with the objective of preparing participants for a potential transition into full-time employment as a Maintenance Technician I. Interns will work closely with leadership to learn company processes, safety standards, and operational workflows.
What you'll do#
- Supervise, train, and provide performance feedback to direct reports to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments, merchandise organization, and inventory maintenance.
- Plan production schedules and allocate resources while maintaining accurate time and production records.
- Track warehouse activities, including sales, record control, and purchasing, to ensure product availability.
- Prepare and submit reports to designated plant personnel.
- Resolve employee issues and maintain open communication across the facility.
- Operate machinery and material handling equipment as required.
What you'll need#
- Current eligibility to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program per DODI 1322.29.
- Two years of leadership experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Strong conflict management skills.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in environments ranging from -20 Fahrenheit in cold storage to 100 Fahrenheit in dry storage while wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Capacity to work a flexible schedule, including weekends if necessary.
- Comfort working in environments with varying noise levels.
