About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to work across the full stack of photonic computing. You will join a team that takes technology from research to reality, covering silicon photonics manufacturing, system integration, and 3D Co-Packaged Optics development.
What you'll do#
Depending on your background, you will contribute to one or more of these areas:
- Support design and simulation of optical components and photonic interconnects.
- Help develop and run tests that validate silicon photonics products from the lab bench to hardware.
- Assist in the design and verification of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Contribute to the characterization and integration of laser sources.
- Support board bring-up, lab validation, and system integration.
- Work on RTL development, modeling of photonics circuitry, and developing algorithms and control logic.
- Build testbenches and run simulations to verify chip designs.
- Perform synthesis and timing analysis with floor planning, place-and-route, or physical verification of ASIC blocks.
- Develop low-level drivers, active laser control algorithms, and system-level telemetry.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing or have recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience gained through coursework, capstone projects, research labs, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with at least one relevant tool such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, ADS, or Cadence.
- You are curious, collaborative, and comfortable asking questions.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Mountain View, California.
- We operate on a hybrid work model.
- This position is offered on a rolling basis.
