About the role#
The CAS Residential Math Student Worker assists the math department with daily operations. This part-time position involves supporting faculty and staff with classroom needs, lab work, and general office tasks. You will work on-site in Lynchburg and contribute to the department by maintaining an organized and effective environment.
What you'll do#
- Support math department personnel with classes and labs.
- Prepare and clear physics lab equipment.
- Provide general assistance to professors.
- Handle various office tasks as requested.
- Follow all university policies and work as a team member.
What you'll need#
- Recommendation from a course instructor, department chairman, or associate chairman.
- High competence in the relevant course content.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational, computer, and scheduling abilities.
- Ability to analyze information and use judgment to solve problems.
- Current enrollment as a Mathematics major.
