About the role#
Lexington Medical, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This program offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience in product development and manufacturing within the medical device industry. You will contribute to the progress of our surgical stapling solutions while gaining exposure to regulatory standards and engineering documentation.
What you'll do#
- Participate in developing continuous improvements for products and processes.
- Support new product development through engineering testing and documentation.
- Create and maintain testing protocols, manufacturing procedures, and engineering reports.
- Draft and maintain component drawings following industry standards.
- Perform quality checks using various inspection instruments to record data.
- Operate equipment with minimal supervision and follow work instructions.
- Maintain equipment safety and cleanliness while performing preventative maintenance.
- Complete documentation required to comply with company policies and safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
- Prior internship, co-op, or substantial hands-on project experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- High attention to detail.

- Location: Bedford, Massachusetts.
- Modality: Fully on-site, 5 days per week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through August).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
