About the role#
Lennox is hiring an AI Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Richardson, Texas. You will join a team of professionals to work on projects that impact our engineering and business operations. This program lasts approximately 10 to 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Build agentic AI systems to automate diagnostics and decision-making in engineering workflows.
- Develop and validate machine learning models for forecasting, quoting, and operational optimization.
- Analyze structured and unstructured enterprise datasets through feature engineering.
- Contribute to LLM-based agent development by handling prompt design, tool integration, and fallback orchestration.
- Assist in deploying agents and models using cloud technologies and secure enterprise pipelines.
- Participate in AI governance to ensure models follow data policies.
- Work with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Masters degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and data tools including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and SQL.
- Experience with regression, classification, and time series modeling.
- Understanding of GenAI and LLMs, with an interest in prompt engineering and agentic workflows.
- Ability to perform feature engineering and build interpretable models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and a desire to lead project teams.

- Compensation: This is a paid, hourly, non-exempt role with a pay range of $22.50 to $25.00 per hour, depending on your year in school. Overtime is eligible for hours worked over 40 per week.
