About the role#
The Core Product Development (CPD) team focuses on enhancing existing products and developing new solutions for automotive seating components. This role supports engineering activities that contribute to the design, testing, and optimization of products to meet performance and quality standards. You will work in a collaborative environment alongside manufacturing, quality, and validation teams.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with continuous product development initiatives including design updates and product optimization.
- Perform basic analysis, testing, or evaluations to support design changes through CAD modeling and tolerance checks.
- Maintain engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and change records.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support product improvements from concept through implementation.
- Collect and organize technical or performance data to assist with CPD decisions.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving product quality, cost, or manufacturability.
- Gain exposure to product lifecycle management and engineering best practices.
- Act as an ambassador for the internship program.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn.
- Hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, or fixing things.
- Coursework or experience related to product design, manufacturing processes, or engineering analysis.
- Basic CAD experience using SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar software.
- Interest in testing, measurement, or product validation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with team-based projects or previous internships.
