About the role#
We are looking for a Solar Engineer Intern or Co-op to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Fairfax, Virginia. You will work directly with solar project managers to gain hands-on experience with photovoltaic systems and contribute to the full design process from start to finish.
What you'll do#
- Assist in all phases of project development.
- Conduct site visits and building audits.
- Calculate energy data for PV arrays.
- Create energy models and evaluate the feasibility of energy savings measures.
- Produce detailed construction documents using CAD.
- Field verify the installation and implementation of PV arrays.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BSEE, preferably as a sophomore or junior.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel for field work.
- CAD experience is helpful.
- You must have current work authorization in the U.S. as no sponsorship is available.
