About the role#
Ledcor Highways is hiring Student Operators to support maintenance operations across Ontario. This role provides a paid opportunity to upgrade your Class 5 driver license to a DZ license. You will learn to operate equipment for both winter and summer highway maintenance. This position is a path to gain skills in a stable industry and may lead to further seasonal or full-time employment.
What you'll do#
- Support highway maintenance operations to keep roads safe.
- Participate in winter and summer maintenance tasks.
- Complete training to upgrade your current Class 5 license to a DZ license.
- Work various shifts, including nights and on-call rotations.
- Perform physically demanding tasks as part of daily operations.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You hold a valid Class 5 driver license without restrictions and have a clean driver abstract.
- You can pass an MTO medical and vision screening exam.
- You are committed to safety and quality work.
- You are physically able to stand and lift up to 50 lbs.
- You are willing to work in various weather conditions.

- Locations: Sault Ste. Marie, Chapleau, White River, Wawa, Agawa, Hornepayne, Goulais River, and Bruce Mines, Ontario.
- Role type: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.
- Employment term: Rolling.
