Software Engineering Intern

About the role#

Layup Parts is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Software & Controls team. This role focuses on building proprietary software that powers our manufacturing operations for the aerospace, defense, and motorsports industries. You will work on production software and collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges.

What you'll do#

• Build out our factory operating system.
• Design interfaces for production machinery to capture real-time data.
• Collaborate on new features for our customer portal.
• Develop internal tools to improve manufacturing processes through automation.

What you'll need#

• Exceptional engineering ability and a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
• Hands-on experience with Go, React TS, or Rust.
• Familiarity with customer-facing software applications.
• Understanding of the mechanical and manufacturing world, particularly regarding part design or composites.
• Experience designing software related to 3D part representations or manipulation in CAD/CAM programs is preferred.
