About the role#
Layup Parts is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the Software & Controls team. This position involves contributing to the development of proprietary software that powers manufacturing operations for the aerospace, defense, and motorsports industries. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with rolling start dates available throughout the year.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain the factory operating system.
- Design interfaces for production machinery to capture real-time data.
- Collaborate on new features for the customer portal.
- Develop internal tools to automate and improve manufacturing processes.
What you'll need#
- Strong engineering ability and a focus on engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and existing code bases.
- Hands-on experience with Go, React TS, or Rust.
- Familiarity with customer-facing software applications.
- Understanding of the mechanical and manufacturing world, particularly regarding part design or composites.
- Enrollment in a program related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to meet U.S. government export regulations (ITAR requirements).
