About the role#
Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Corrosion Engineering Intern to join the Corrosion Control group in Nashville, Tennessee. This position provides training in engineering procedures, industry standards, and work practices related to pipeline integrity management. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist with contracting, design, and pipeline integrity management for pipeline projects.
- Provide technical assistance to the Engineering and Operations departments to resolve operating inefficiencies.
- Provide field assistance to personnel on cathodic protection and direct assessment projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Prepare final project reports, technical memorandums, and data deliverables.
- Conduct information interviews with personnel to learn about the industry and company operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior in a Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering program.
- Proficiency in MSOffice Suite.
- Ability to learn quickly and develop professionally.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge or interest in the energy industry is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
