About the role#
Labcorp is seeking a Molecular Genetics and Genomics intern to join the team in Durham, North Carolina. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The program runs for 11 weeks, from June 1st to August 13th, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Shadow laboratory professionals to learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
- Assist with non-testing laboratory tasks such as specimen organization, inventory, and workspace preparation.
- Participate in approved mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision.
- Support approved laboratory projects.
- Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology Bachelor’s degree program.
- Interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow laboratory procedures.
- Eagerness to learn new laboratory skills and scientific concepts.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.
