About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on the development of software for tactical radio equipment. You will apply engineering and mathematical principles to build systems and support the full software development life cycle. This role is based in Rochester, New York, and operates on a 9/80 schedule, which includes every other Friday off.
What you'll do#
- Write and test software programs for embedded systems.
- Design and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software components.
- Define operational performance requirements for overall systems.
- Create software test procedures and maintain related technical documentation.
- Conduct experimental tests using modeling tools to establish operating data.
- Participate in peer reviews to improve code quality.
- Track and repair software defects.
- Use languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Python, and SQL across Windows, Linux, and embedded operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, or Digital Arts & Sciences.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $26.50 to $31.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time internship with rolling terms.
