About the role#
The Project Engineering department is looking for a co-op student to support the development of new products. You will work with the team to create documentation, analyses, and presentations. This role provides a supportive environment where you can take on as much challenge as you are willing to handle.
What you'll do#
- Support the NPI Project Lead during the transition of products from development to production.
- Generate and review project and product documentation, including specifications, reports, and technical publications.
- Assist in investigating, designing, and implementing next-generation systems.
- Create presentations and lead project meetings.
- Manage material procurement and design changes.
- Support engineering quality and configuration management through process reviews.
- Organize small project teams and communicate tasks to other functions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering program or a similar field.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a co-op program at an accredited university.
- Ability to commit to a 16-month term.
- Familiarity with design suites like Solidworks for mechanical or Cadence for electrical work.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems, optic, or laser devices.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
- An action-oriented approach with good decision-making skills.

- Compensation: $25 per hour.
