About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at L3Harris Technologies, you will support the production of high-reliability electronic hardware for Tactical Satellite equipment. This includes work with surface mount technology, mechanical integration, and environmental testing. You will work alongside senior engineers on product introductions, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain work instructions, assembly routings, and process procedures.
- Develop and qualify new manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Implement engineering changes and oversee non-conformance reviews.
- Analyze manufacturing plans and estimate costs, time standards, and tooling requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams to move products from engineering to production.
- Perform economic analyses to track variances in labor and cycle times.
- Attend daily shift huddles and track product line key performance indicators.
- Support root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience with soldering or basic electronic manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with basic CAD software.
- A basic understanding of 3D printing.
- Experience using statistical software such as Minitab or JMP.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification is preferred.

- Schedule: 9/80 schedule, which includes every other Friday off.
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
