About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Huntsville, Alabama. You will join the team on a 9/80 schedule, which includes working 80 hours over nine days and having every other Friday off.
What you'll do#
- Provide mechanical engineering support for new product development and existing factory operations.
- Work alongside mechanical designers to develop CAD models and manage part documentation.
- Generate and process engineering change orders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to apply Structural Mechanics principles to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities.
- Familiarity with finite element methods, fatigue, and damage tolerance principles.
- Exposure to CAD or FEA tools, or experience in the design and analysis of electronic systems, structures, and mechanisms.
