About the role#
As a Material Process Engineering Intern, you will perform chemical research and analysis tasks to support propellant and compound synthesis. You will contribute to combustion diagnostics, material qualification, and environmental compliance activities. This role involves developing research proposals to evaluate new products and synthetic methods while helping to improve energetics, propulsion, and warhead systems.
What you'll do#
- Conduct laboratory testing following approved work instructions.
- Analyze and interpret test results.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on laboratory activities.
- Develop and administer unique testing techniques and research methods.
- Conceive and execute plans to improve propulsion and warhead systems.
- Interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations relevant to chemical processes.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain working relationships.
- Support manufacturing processes and environmental remediation tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to independently develop novel technical concepts.
- Understanding of laboratory safety standards and quality assurance protocols.
- Proficiency with chemical laboratory equipment and analytical software.
