About the role#
We are looking for a co-op student to support the Firmware team by developing and maintaining internal web applications. Your work will directly improve the efficiency of our FPGA designers. You will join a team that values collaboration, rigorous documentation, and clear requirements to create reliable designs.
What you'll do#
- Build, maintain, and enhance internal software tools.
- Create and manage test and verification suites for these tools.
- Develop and maintain tool requirements and associated documentation.
- Follow departmental coding guidelines and practices.
- Share lessons learned to contribute to the team's knowledge base.
- Provide input and support to departments outside of the FPGA team.
- Participate in company training and educational events.
- Propose ideas for innovation within and between groups.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree program in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to complete a 16-month co-op term starting in May 2026.
- Current enrollment and good standing in an accredited university co-op program.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with Flask.
- Knowledge of software design patterns and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Frontend web development skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Angular.ts, Linux, C/C++, and VHDL.
- Understanding of software verification processes.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starting, hands-on approach.
