About the role#
As a Co-Op student at L3Harris, you will join our FPGA Design team to help create new products. We follow a structured process that starts with clear requirements and ends with thorough verification. Our team values collaboration and high-quality documentation. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop reliable designs while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
What you'll do#
- Write and validate FPGA design requirements.
- Create FPGA designs using VHDL.
- Integrate library modules into larger designs.
- Verify, test, and debug code in both simulation and hardware environments.
- Use Xilinx design tools for synthesis, implementation, and timing closure.
- Participate in design reviews and follow departmental coding guidelines.
- Support product sustaining operations and document your work.
- Share lessons learned and contribute ideas for team innovation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering program.
- Ability to commit to a 16-month Co-Op term starting in May 2026.
- Comfort with basic VHDL syntax and an understanding of timing constraints.
- Experience with revision control systems like SVN or GIT.
- Proficiency in English for technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
- Bonus points for knowledge of Linux, Python, System Verilog, TCL, Matlab, digital signal processing, or digital video.
