Summer 2026 Store Technology Support Internship

About the role#

The Summer 2026 Store Technology Support Internship is a 12-week immersive program running from May 18 to August 7, 2026. This role focuses on the technology used within retail stores and offices, providing hands-on experience in supporting store associates, managing vendor relationships, and participating in store remodels and new builds. Interns will work on projects that drive the technical landscape of the grocery industry while developing leadership and business skills.

What you'll do#

• Complete assigned projects and tasks related to specific technology initiatives.
• Partner with associates to implement technical and corporate strategies.
• Assist in working on new technology platforms that are revolutionizing the retail industry.
• Maintain and follow operational procedures and processes.
• Participate in weekly department meetings.
• Engage with peers on committees focused on philanthropy, branding, and community events.
• Participate in programs that support technical and leadership development.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0, or registered to begin classes in the fall of 2025.
• Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in groups or independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to various levels of the organization.
• Ability to analyze and interpret information and apply it to business needs.
• Prior experience in a retail environment.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to preserve confidentiality.
• Commitment to providing customer service.
• Highly motivated with the desire to take initiative on work.

Location & details#

• This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Columbus, Ohio.
• Interns must be able to travel to Kroger store locations within the Columbus metro and surrounding areas.
• Applicants must have work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
