PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2026. Interns will work on-site in Madison, Mississippi, supporting pharmacy operations and patient care under the supervision of a pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and dispense the correct medication.
• Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Support pharmacy operations by managing inventory, stocking orders, and maintaining a clean department.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Interact with customers, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs, to ensure a welcoming and helpful environment.
• Handle administrative tasks such as processing third-party insurance and facilitating charge purchases.
• Maintain safety standards by reporting risks, accidents, or incidents to management and the pharmacist on duty.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Strong interpersonal skills to promote trust, respect, and a positive customer experience.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-demand environment and manage conflict in a professional, nonconfrontational manner.
• Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding business and patient information.
