About the role#
The Kroger Summer Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to provide a comprehensive overview of retail operations. Interns will gain exposure to store management, marketing, merchandising, purchasing, supply chain management, financial analysis, and human resources. Throughout the program, you will work alongside industry leaders, connect with students from across the country, and participate in job shadowing with store management.
What you'll do#
- Lead projects and refine professional skills while working in retail divisions.
- Role model the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
- Gain understanding of store leadership, including planning, implementation, and execution of merchandising and operating initiatives.
- Learn how store managers develop action plans and communicate with associates.
- Complete special assignments as requested.
- Curate a cumulative retail project and present your findings to division leadership.
- Train at multiple locations, including retail stores, distribution centers, and division offices.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate change and respond to challenges with a positive demeanor.
- Initiative to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to providing superior customer service.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information and apply it to business needs.
- Involvement in leadership and community activities is preferred.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
