PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, assist customers, and ensure accurate medication dispensing while maintaining safety and quality standards.

What you'll do#

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Interpret oral and written prescriptions for fill and refill requests.
• Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
• Dispense medications, bag prescriptions, and facilitate customer transactions.
• Provide drug counseling and immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by stocking incoming orders and managing stock bottles.
• Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to handle situations in a nonconfrontational manner.
• Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
